You aren’t good because you’re hard on yourself. Stop using it as an excuse to beat yourself up.
You’re good because you’re smart and driven. The fact that you can’t sleep at night because your work today wasn’t good enough is not making you better. In fact, that rumination and stress is probably making you worse.
Everyone can always get better, but that doesn’t mean that we’re not good enough right now.
You can be happy with where you are while still improving your work. You must acknowledge that growth is part of happiness. If you already were perfect, there would be no room to grow.
Enjoy where you are, even if it isn’t where you want to be. Beating yourself up is a waste of energy. Instead, spend that energy enjoying your work and appreciating the effort you’ve put forward.
Create an inner champion, instead. Everyone else is too busy to be your champion, so you’re going to have to do it anyways.
Your inner critic is not your driver, so next time it speaks up, don’t listen.
