Imagine a world where Mcdonalds didn’t have french fries and they only served sweet potato fries. You’d get used to it. You’d probably even like them a little. What if they stopped frying them? You might not like them quite as much at first, but you’d get used to it. Eventually you’d be perfectly happy with them and you’d be eating something that’s healthy.
People that grow up in the cold don’t mind it. People that walk on the left side of the street don’t know any different. They’re used to it. If you’re used to eating oatmeal every morning, you’ll be okay without decadent pancakes and french toast.
A lot of things in our life are arbitrary and they’re not ideal for our happiness and health. Let’s reexamine some of our presets to better suit our lives.
What can we get used to that would make us happier and healthier in the long run? My guess is that there are a lot of things.
