There’s something about the wilderness that brings us back to the present. And with all the challenges of being a young person in today’s world, presence is often the answer.
Nature is often free, and not too far away, but we don’t visit nearly enough. Generations of kids grow up without an affinity for climbing trees and hiking mountains and sledding down hills.
What if more people could have the opportunity to get outside and experience the outdoors? How much calmer, and more centered would everyone be?
Recently a study from the University of New Hampshire found that wilderness therapy is three times more effective and half the cost of traditional therapy.
Why wouldn’t we all be getting outside more? Soon, this will be seen as a viable alternative and we’ll think it was crazy to have taken so long to realize it.
