As someone who likes to read books and has an Amazon prime account, I made a habit of ordering books that appealed to me 1-3 times/month.
Upon moving, I finally got set up with a library card. I thought this would help me read more books, but instead it’s had the opposite effect. It’s introduced a decision that paralyzes me.
Now, I hear about a book, look at it on Amazon, then think I should see if the library has it. But often I’m not in front of my computer, so I can’t look at the library website easily. So I don’t check, and don’t order the book. Then, the next day, I forget it all happened and go on book-less.
While the library is a great resource that should be utilized more often, I think I’m going back to ordering books on Amazon. At $15 or $20 for a book, it’s an investment that is well worth it.
