The Entrepreneurship Club brought in a speaker last Friday and her advice really stuck with me. An audience member asked “What would you do if you knew all that you do now, but you were our age?”
Her answer: “Stop being so afraid.”
Woah. Seriously? It wasn’t any trendy advice like “prepare for jobs of the future,” “learn how to code,” blah blah.. This was better. She knows that we’re all afraid because she’s been there. We’re scared of things that will never even happen. Just like Mark Twain said, “I’ve lived through some terrible things in my life, some of which actually happened.” Most of the stuff we worry about doesn’t even happen!
We don’t have much energy to use in a given day, so let’s not waste it all worrying.
My question to you is, “What would you create if you weren’t afraid?” What would you do if you weren’t scared of living in a small house? What would you make if you weren’t scared about what “society” would say?
