If we will only scale programs that have a super strong research base, we won’t ever get the change and innovation we need.
Unless, the funding model drastically changes.
Because the people with the resources, and connections to build the research backing are existing behemoths. And we know that behemoths aren’t innovating. Not to mention how primitive our research methods in the current day will look in just a generation.
If funding models don’t emerge to invest venture-capital style in small organizations innovating rapidly, then we will be relying on giants to make changes. Keep in mind, the giants are there because they are good at maintaining a status quo. They exist because they are proficient in the bureaucracy.
We need risky investments in bold ideas. It won’t all pan out, but eventually we hit the big wins we need.
