It’s hard to go from being a 10 person agency where everyone is overpaid to a 20 person agency where everyone is adequately paid. It’s much harder to change in that direction than it is to start with the latter situation.
The problem is, the market eventually detects the inefficiency and new firms pop up that can utilize 20 people to do a better job while charging the same price.
At the end of the day, the solutions get better, and cheaper over time. When that doesn’t happen, natural questions should start arising about what’s preventing the continuous rise in efficiency.
Given the mechanized and algorithmic nature of our current day, it’s deeply concerning that higher education and health care continue to get significantly more expensive.
There are inevitable new that will come in and clear the profit off the table. Let’s usher them in because we need it more than ever.
