Many great artists start their lives enjoying great art before they make it.
Ira Glass famously has a quote about the gap between the first art you make, and the high quality taste you have.
If you love photography, but you’re not quite ready to become a photographer yet, curate a list of great pictures. Have opinions about what good photography looks like. If you want to become a fashion designer, make a Pintrest board of outfits you like. Have opinions about what style should look like.
While we self quarantine and wait out the coronavirus, I encourage you all to start having more opinions about the things you’re interested in. And if you already have opinions, start creating something. If there’s some kind of sports coverage you think is missing, or some voice that isn’t present in the current narrative, step in and add yours.
Start with curating the things you find to be great, then graduate into the world of creation.
