“Sometimes you have to see the ball go in the basket.”
I used this phrase a lot in basketball. There are times when it feels like you can’t make any shots. No matter how open you are, the ball won’t go in. You keep missing and your confidence goes down and down.
Until you see it go in the basket one time. Maybe it was a lay up or a free throw. Maybe you just shot it after the whistle blew. It doesn’t matter how many points your shot counted for. All that matters is that you saw the ball go in the basket.
Just like in basketball, momentum and confidence are important factors in everything we do.
Don’t underestimate the power of a small win. If you’re feeling stuck, get a little victory under your belt. That might be all you need to get back on track.
