In a series of podcasts by Naval Ravikant, he dropped a quote that everyone should hear in school: “Read what you love until you love to read.”
This needs to be the way we treat reading in all young people. Help them find what they love until they love the practice of reading so much that they can read anything. Many independent actors in the education system carry this intention, but it’s not nurtured by the system.
Rather than “required reading” being necessarily equivalent to specific books that someone chose for students, “required reading” should be any reading, any book.
Keep reading what you love.
