Was it to make you better? Or was it to make you look better?
Was it more about the name that could go on your resume? Or about the quality of the experience?
In an ideal world, the name would be credible because of the quality, but that’s not always true. That college that is ranked highly isn’t because of the pedagogical excellence, it’s because of a weighted ranking system that people know how to game.
Looking better matters, but I think most would argue being better matters more in the long run.
