Learning doesn’t happen until you GET IT. Before then, it’s just words.
The learning happens when you put the teaching into action. Therein lies the beauty of a workshop.
A lecture is just words. You’re banking on students doing work at home until they get it. But that’s a lot to ask. Why not pair the doing with the learning? It should go in the same session.
There’s no need for 50 minutes of straight content. Surely we could spare 10, or 20 or 30 or even 40 minutes to let the students put the learning into action right then and there.
Let’s bring learning back to life.
