The idea of Kaizen is to make a small step in the right direction toward a reaching larger goal.
And by small, they mean tiny! Almost laughable. If your goal is to exercise in the morning, but instead you prefer to have a cup of coffee and read the paper, you can keep doing that. Just stand on the treadmill while you read and sip. You don’t even need to turn on the treadmill. Just stand on it.
But once you’re there, you might as well walk for a minute.
And so the path goes toward behavior change. Consistently taking steps in the right direction by starting smaller than the eye can see.
