Seth Godin often talks about reviews on Amazon. He says, “When someone leaves a one star review, they’re not leaving it about the book. They’re just announcing ‘this isn’t for me.'”
And that’s okay. There’s nothing you can do about that now.
If someone bought your book expecting a guide on how to fix their sink, but instead they got a deep exploration of the Maine woods, their one-star review shouldn’t hurt you. They messed up. They got confused. It wasn’t for them and no matter how much of their feedback you read, it will never be for them.
Know who it’s for.
