At the end of the day, if people could take away one message from our work it’s that young people have value. They can contribute to the world right now. There’s no need to wait until you have a degree, until you’ve retired, until you’ve discovered your calling. You can improve the world right now.
The conclusion that follows is that we’re wasting our time by hiding the fact that all people have power. We’re spending time on memorization that could be spent tapping into purpose and impact. We’re wasting time pretending that young people need to learn more before they can do anything meaningful. We’re lying to them and to ourselves.
It doesn’t take more knowledge. It takes more courage. We all know it, but we’re afraid to admit it.
