You may prefer certain ways of learning, but they might not help you learn better. What’s more likely is that it’s the repeated attempts to understand, the grappling with a concept, that gets you to comprehension.
If you hear it said out loud, but believe you’re a visual learner, having someone draw it isn’t evidence you learn visually. Perhaps it’s just because it’s the second time you’ve heard the information. Perhaps communicating with a combination of visual and text is just a superior way to convey ideas.
Good communication is redundant and explains things in multiple ways.
Great learners aren’t afraid to try multiple times and think critically about concepts from many angles. Knowing your learning style might not make you successful, but enrolling in the difficult journey of being a lifelong learner sure will.
