We’ve all heard the story that goes something like…
“I started telling my friends that I always wanted to launch a food business, then one of them connected me with an investor and she changed my life by helping me launch my venture. I was so lucky to meet that person at the right time.”
And it makes sense. There was a lot of luck there. But luck isn’t a constant number. It was boosted by the persistence to talk about the idea, and follow up on the connection to make it happen.
For many people, they lack that follow through.
They have opportunities where they could look back ten years later and say “I was so lucky to meet this person.” But, they never sent the email. They never made the call. They never showed up.
Just because you give someone the opportunity doesn’t mean they will take it.
Lucky people take opportunities knowing that it might change their life. Unlucky people refuse to try new things and instead they stay stuck.
