David Chang loves food and cares deeply about it. He even calls himself a snob. But he hates food snobs.
So what’s the difference?
The difference between his love and snobbery over food, and what he thinks food snobs are known for is that being a snob often comes with judgments about other people and their choices.
He doesn’t want to be subjected to some food snob saying “Dominoes is bad pizza.”
Sure, it might not be the most well crafted pie, but it can still be loved.
I think he articulates an important middle ground. You can love something and care deeply about it, but that doesn’t mean you should judge others for their decisions.
