Creativity is seeing differently. It’s about finding a connection between two dots that no one else notices.
Entrepreneurship is figuring out how to capture value created by having that point of view.
Luckily, both of these skills can be learned. Creativity is largely determined by the bravery to have bad ideas. The more bad ideas you have, the more good ideas you will have. We’re all creative, but we’ve learned to keep quiet for fear of looking bad.
Entrepreneurship requires the same boldness. It’s never easy to ask someone to pay for the thing you’ve built, but when you do, you learn a lot. Creatives and entrepreneurs say that same things. They fail their way to success. They try so many things that don’t work, eventually something is bound to resonate with people.
We need more creativity and more entrepreneurship in this world. Be persistent and be brave and we’ll be on our way to making it happen.
