Making change is not about addition. It’s often mostly about letting go…
Letting go of the old way. Letting go of the illusion of control. Letting go of your expectations.
But letting go is the hardest thing to do. It would be much easier if change was just about adding something new. We’re all in favor of adding as long as we don’t need to get rid of anything. Add another storage unit, put our stuff in it. We might need that stuff in the future.
Teaching to let go is not a practice of optimization and productivity. It’s a practice of zen and mindfulness.
Take a deep breath and let go of the old way.
