The more you respect a garden, the more you’re going to enjoy it.
What makes someone respect a garden? A few ideas:
Charge for it
Make it really big
Make it full of rare things
Make it visually spectacular
Make it participatory so people have stake in the game
Make it educational
Make it art
Make it social
But of course, none of these strategies work unless the user cares about them. Some people value a rare collection. Others value a social event that just happens to take place in a garden.
Know the users and meet them in a place that matters to them.
