What is content marketing?
Content marketing is giving value and sharing valuable knowledge to establish trust that will eventually attract loyal customers.
The project
As a Junior at the University of Delaware, I didn’t see any relevant classes in the field of content marketing. As someone who had recently become enthusiastic about writing and teaching online, I hoped to get some additional exposure to this field.
I took the initiative to design an independent study where I would write blog posts about various topics in content marketing. I wrote these posts with a business owner in mind. Let these posts be an introduction to various aspects of content marketing and a guide to those unfamiliar with the topic.
The process
Each week, I did research on a given topic like SEO, copywriting or podcasting. I synthesized this information and wrote a post that took three minutes to read and from which a novice could walk away with an understanding of this topic. I met with my advisor each week to check in on my progress. I gathered feedback from over 30 students on how my writing could improve.
The pieces below demonstrate my understanding of content marketing and also serve as a map for those interested in cutting through the noise and understanding this buzzword.
